How to Attain Happiness in One's Life by Maria Tracy P. Cardeno

Happiness is what everyone looking for as the ultimate goal in their lives. The question now is as you walk the path of life have you meet your happiness.

Life is a precious gift of God. Each person is thankful for they see the beauty of the world they live in. As a person we struggle in day to day in order to survive, and part of it is to aim for riches that can satisfy our needs and popularity so that everybody will look up to. But the question is "Are you happy in your life"?

In the Hierarchy of Needs of human being, as a person the top most is happiness, which according to some philosophers it is the ultimate goal of man in his life.

There are several ways on how to attain happiness in one's life.

· Understand you’re self - Know yourself, your dreams and goals in life. Start taking a move in order to reach your dreams. Move to make change in your life for the better. Identify your strength and weaknesses as a person. Enhance that strength and overcome that weaknesses make it an asset to you. Be aware of individual differences where in each one is a unique person. Therefore don’t compete with anyone else rather compete to yourself. Ask what you can do. This will help you reach your goal in life and make you live happily.

· Understand other – Always have a space in your life for other people, be aware that in order to survive you have to be with somebody. Study the lives of the people that surround you for with this you come to understand them and learn from them. Learn from their life experiences this will serve as a mirror as you walk the path of life.

· Be contented and value things– Contentment is in the mind of the person but the reality beyond it is everyone is doing their best to improve their way of living. In here the idea of contentment is more on inner individual aspect, where in you value what you have in life aside from the fact that you are still looking for more. Once valuing is present in your life the door for goodness will open thus you attain happiness.

· Have a healthy mind – Always have a healthy mind free from worries and anxiety. Peace of mind is important to stay mentally fit in everyday living. Healthy mind also contributes a lot in making good relationship with other. Success in your career or in everything that you venture relies on your healthy mind.

· Have a healthy body - Believe in the idea that if you want to be happy and achieve your main goal in life set your mind on it and your body will follow. Healthy body is one of the most significant elements in maintaining your joyful life. You can reach that dreams with the help of a healthy body for actions you take is always possible. There is no word as impossible actions in your vocabulary for you will be determined to take even the risk just to reach that dreams which will make you happy. Therefore determination is driven by the mind and body.

· Take time to re-examine your self – Give yourself a space and time. Devote this for re-examining yourself. Start with the actions you take. See to that every action you take is for a common good. Always remember there is a room for improvement. This will help you a lot for you will learn from your past.

Think now what makes you happy? It’s not yet too late. Happiness lies in your hand.
